Dates & Statuses in BodyShop Booster

Understanding Dates & Statuses in BodyShop Booster

In BodyShop Booster, each repair status (like Estimate, In Progress, Paint, Delivered, etc.) is tied to two dates:

  • Scheduled Date — when you plan for that step to happen.
  • An Actual Date — when that step actually happens.

Status and Actual Dates Work Together

You can’t update a status without also setting its actual date. And if you update the actual date, the status might change too. That’s because Booster always looks at the latest actual date to figure out what stage the repair is currently in.

For example:

  • If “In Progress” has an actual date of June 10,
  • And “Paint” has an actual date of June 12,
  • The system will consider the repair to be in Paint (since it's the most recent status that has happened).
Booster only considers actual dates that are today or in the past. Future dates don’t count toward the current status.

Tip: It’s okay if the actual dates are a bit out of order — Booster goes by the latest one, not the order of the statuses themselves.

What About Scheduled Dates?

Scheduled dates don’t affect the status at all — they’re just for planning. They help you and your team see what’s supposed to happen next.

If a scheduled date has passed but there’s no actual date yet, Booster will show it in red to let you know it's overdue.

For this record, the estimate was written and sent on the 4th, and approved on the 5th (this is the current status). The booking is Scheduled to get made by the 6th, but as today is the 7th and hasn’t yet been replaced by an Actual date, that’s showing in red. The status of Arrived has an Actual date in the future (the 10th) which means that if nothing else changes on this record, on the 10th, the status will be updated to Arrived.

The following are the default statuses in BodyShop Booster, along with the associated Scheduled and Actual and Date Fields. The table also shows API fields where they exist for those date fields:
