Automations

Automations allow you to create custom workflows within your BodyShop Booster platform.

Some common uses for Automations include:

  • Estimate Follow-up - monitor the actions your customer has taken in an Estimate Flow. If there has been no action, meaning they haven't approved the estimate or signed an e-sign form, for instance, then you can follow up with one action; if they have, you can follow up with another action.
  • New Assignment Outreach - automate contact with your assigned customers, ask for photos, and offer your estimate calendar link to them.
  • Post Repair Marketing - ask for Google reviews and automate a long-term campaign to nurture your customer relationship.
  • Missed Appointments

I like to think of Automations as simple if-then sequences. It's a way of configuring IF something happens, THEN do this. Of course, they can become much more complex than that, but at their essence, that's what they are. Let's look at how they work.

Automations consist of Triggers, Actions, and Logic Blocks. The trigger is just as it sounds: it's what prompts the Automation to happen. The Action is the outcome, and you can stack these, meaning you can have more than one. Finally, Logic Blocks (and Evaluations) allow us to control additional conditions.

Let's make a simple, sample Automation together. I want an automation that alerts my customer when their vehicle is ready for pick up and then sends them a Google review request the next day. We will trigger this by adding a repair tag called "Ready". I would then add an action item to send a canned message letting them know their vehicle is ready for pick up, followed by a delayed action item asking for a Google review.

This is a very simple automation, but it should give you some idea of how powerful these can be. As always, if you need help, please reach out to us at help@bodyshopbooster.com. Thank you.

Triggers added:

Event start and End of a calendar booking.

This trigger allows you to base your automation on either the

  • Booking Event Start (based on the start time) → Start time of the booking.
  • Booking Event End (based on the end time) → End time of the booking.

This will be useful when customers miss their meetings, and you want to alert them to rebook and notify your staff.

Logic added: Repair Fields.

Now you can choose to create logic based on any of the following repair fields:

This will be useful when you need to infirm customers that you do not repair certain vehichle/year etc through automation after a photo estimate tool has been completed.

Actions Added:

1. Add/Remove Repair Tags

You can now assign or remove repair tags within your automation.

  1. Send direct link to calendars (Survey link coming soon)

You can send the calendar links to customers outside of the Document wallet through this feature by text or email.

  1. Assign to user or team

You can now assign a user or team to an action in an automation. This is useful when a customer has not completed an action (photo tool, calendar appointment, etc.) and you can assign it back to a certain team or user to follow up.
